We headed for the kid area of the zoo. Unfortunately, Tuesdays are the ponies day off. Lazy bums...but there were plenty of other fun animals. We looked at the bunnies and a helper even brought one out for Rori to touch. Funny thing about Rori though she is not a touchy feely kind of girl when it comes to animals. She will look, get right up in there face, and doesn't even mind if they touch or lick her. But she is not one to "Reach out and Touch Someone." This has also been true with other kids. Her good friend Mariah is always willing to share a hug and a kiss, Rori is pretty much always willing to shove her away.
Touch It?!?
Anyway, we looked at some other animals. They had ducks and fishes that she liked very much. We also went to pet some goats. Again she didn't really want to do that, but she really wanted to climb they toy! That thing had fun written all over it!
Climb It!!!
I'm not sure which part she liked more, climbing the toy, or cooling off in the cool little stream. Luckily there were rocks and things in the stream bed she could climb. Phew! Both favorites in one!
After this we went and looked at some of the bigger animals. Rori loved growling at the Tiger. The otters were pretty entertaining as well. We had a bite to eat and the decided Rori was exhausted. She was acting like a drunk. Laughing maniacally at the littlest thing. We headed home and here is a shot of the aftermath of our day.
Rori also loved growling at Grandpa. They growled back and forth for about five minutes. Rori was having a hard time because she kept hiccuping in the middle of her growls. I got the camera to capture this fun little moment and got something even better. Rori just suddenly decided it was no longer funny and freaked out. She is doing her sign for help when she hits her wrist. This was the best moment of their whole visit, I love that I got it on tape.
Their last day here my Dad had some business to do. But that evening we went to dinner and spent some more time at the kiddie pool. Grandma bough Rori some new sand toys that she absolutely loves! A boat and a neat dump truck! The dump truck is like sooooo cool!
It was so great to have them here! We miss everyone back in Idaho so much. Rori asks to talk to Lilly and Gamma everyday now, if she sees the phone or computer she wants to talk to Lilly, Gamma or Dada. So cute. I am so grateful to have such wonderful family relationships and that my children will as well!
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for breaking up our looooonnnnngggggg summer!
